A Quick Clarification (Don’t Panic)
Published December 23rd, 2006 in development.I just wanted to quickly say that I don’t want to give the impression that there is no chance for the Marble Blast Ultra update. I just wanted to provide a realistic view of the current situation. If there was no chance of it happening, than we would have made an official announcement, and if that turns out to be the case, than one will be made.
I have hope for the New Year. Things get mighty-gummed up in the months before the holidays. I also don’t want to create hope where there shouldn’t be, though. No matter what happens, though, Marble Blast will not go away. We started talking about new game modes before we shipped the first one, and this will not be the last Marble Blast. One of the privileges of working at GarageGames is that it is not anyones job to churn out sequels as fast as we can. We get to try new things, new games, new tools, and this helps us from stagnating. We will make a new Marble Blast game in the future, though not the immediate future.
I want to thank the people who have commented and e-mailed in support of Marble Blast Ultra, and I want to make it clear that we hear you, we agree with you, and this surge of energy around Marble Blast may just help to grease some wheels.

Pat, this game at least needs the friends list bug fixed, and the multiplayer issues resolved, it should be mandatory to patch this game! I would be kicking and screaming if I were you, I know there are plenty out there right now that are…angrydev.com? More like angrycommunity!!! IF you can’t do the levels, fix the bugs!!! On a lighter note, thanks so much for helping with this game, it has paid me back 10 fold for what I payed for it with hours of enjoyment…and I am sure there are alot of people out there that would pay for the new maps too…any clarification on WHO is stopping you from releasing this update? What is your role besides lead programmer…and any details on a future MBU…Thank You!
Respectfully,
JRONI
Seriously…thank you and I don’t mean to come off the wrong way…
JRONI.. we do want the new maps! i want to own some more lol.. i dnt fink the game people no how pro some people are at this game in multiplayer.. and do they reply back to you on here? if they do add my gamertag Oo Wo0dY oO so i can show the game designers up at mbu
Thanks for the clarification. Just wondering, is the hold-up a question of monetizing the new levels? Personally, I too would rather see a round of bugfixes go out first, and then let Microsoft figure out how they want to package the new levels.
It’s frustrating that the infrastructure to update games is there, but things like the multiplayer drop penalty and level freezes are still an issue, almost a year later.
well can we have sum screen shots of the new maps something we can atleast have!!!!!!!!
SCREENSHOTS! SCREENSHOTS!
Congratulations MBU and Garage Games!

i think every1 wants the new maps. but for the love of god!! please fix the bugs!!!
Well, i’m sure Microsoft cares… o wait no they don’t
they waited 9 months to fix Texas Hold Em
They haven’t even considered fixing UMK3
MBU or any arcade game for that matter is not on their list of to-do’s
I happen to have that list though:
1) Get money
2) Find new way of getting money
3) Promote new found way of getting money for maximum money get-age
4) Care less about our loyal customers
5) Steal and bring down competition
6) Say we care about fans
7) Fail to acknowledge Halo is the only thing keeping us alive or brought us to life
Mr ******* Wiggl3s, you do realise that Microsoft makes very few arcade games?
To date only Uno and Hexic HD were made by Carbonated Games (Microsoft’s own arcade developer group). Uno has seen several updates during its release (Hexic doesn’t have any problems as far as I know_
So Texas Hold ‘Em, UMK3, MBU etc. are NOT on THEIR list of to-do’s because they don’t have ANY power to get an update made/released!
It would be like Microsoft asking Google to fix “Google Earth”
Dave, I agree partially with what you are saying…however, from what I understand, they do play a roll in getting updates out to the public, by means of Certification
From what I understand MBU was built without the ability to update the game when they want. So if the wanted to update it they may have to do either a very large file size update or re-release the game for free to the people who already own it. And if that is the case microsoft would want to make some cash, so they would try to force garage to charge a fee, and they don’t want to. Note to Garage: I would pay up to $10 for the update.
I would pay for the update as well…
let’s go…we are waiting…
seriously, release the damn thing already
